The Eat Out to Help Out scheme was launched by Chancellor Rishi Sunak to help the UK’ s floundering hospitality industry after the nationwide lockdown left many businesses at risk of closure.

The  scheme  offers customers 50 per cent off the cost of a meal –  up  to a maximum of £10 per person – when  eating out  at a participating restaurant, café, pub or bar.

The discount isn’ t valid against booze, but there is no minimum spend and you don’ t need a voucher to use the scheme, meaning it really is as simple as showing up to the participating restaurant, ordering your favourite meal and getting a half price bill at the end.
